☽ New Beginnings
How unbelievably perfect is this card?! A Goddess holds a small child up to the left, the side of receiving. She defiantly turns her back to the past. Her head is turned down as if to say I am not certain of what is to come but I want to have unwavering trust and faith. It is not just my will, that will be done. Mercury the planet of thoughts and communication is retrograde right now and will be as we go into the New Year. Be careful of the thoughts you think. New pictures and words are needed. We will choose powerfully.
She is flying free. Her nakedness symbolizes a few key things. The vulnerability of uncertainty, shedding the skin of last year and ultimately the 9 year cycle coming to an end in just a few days. Our Goddess comes in like a newborn, naked representing the birth of a new year and new cycle about to begin. She chooses to have resolute faith and closes her eyes to the past.
Decide what will be left in the past. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn the god of karma, time and responsibility. Capricorn energy is all about goals, success, motivation, determination and loyalty to family but also to one's own personal path. Look to see now what you, or your personality, as Oprah would say, came here to do. It might be that you came here to simply to be the one that lights up a room, or touches everyone's heart, or motivates people to do and be their best? Maybe the calm, groundedness and serenity you embody is the touchstone for those who need to see and feel that for themselves.
Perhaps you will create a non-profit to help children who need clean water, food or medicine; or mothers who don't have access in third world countries to these resources or even education. You might change the life of a small child who lives in a home where life is difficult for them emotionally. You can tell they don't feel secure or good enough in your elementary school class. Telling them they are talented, capable and amazing could impact them forever.
Open up now and share who you are. From philanthropy, to the state of being you bring, the delicious food you cook for your family, your mad organization skills, or the example of good health you are and your life's work; ALL of these things are valid and important.

This New Moon has a graceful and gentle essence. Take time to turn inward. Feel what you are leaving behind. Spend time alone if you can, especially in nature. Sit for a spell as they say. We come into the New Year with a sense of what we individually believe is needed for the planet and humankind. There is something inside each of us that contributes to this greater good. In spite of the powers-that-be, we can do works that uplift the planet.
As we cross over into 2017 the moon will move into Aquarius, the visionary sign embodying the individualism, intelligence, the higher mind and collective good. In 2015 I realized I was no more or less a singer-songwriter and performer if I didn't do a third album. For years I tortured myself thinking this would qualify me somehow. This was my mind. I let it hound me for quite awhile. After some soul-searching, I realized I wish to sing the ones I have already written and cover songs I do love and be free! At anytime I could record another song in the studio. I just have to walk into my inhouse AngelEarth Studio which comes with Mark Watson, my amazing producer.
I have already toured the world. I put in hours and hours since the age of four singing and practicing, taking piano and vocal lessons. I released an ep and two albums, meditations and spent decades honing my craft and my voice. I think I can be happy and satisfied with that. I decided to move onto what is next.
Align with your vision for the coming year by connecting with your inner-guru. Turning within is the net that catches intuition. It's your time now. Follow the beat of your own drum. Capricorn energy rules responsibility. It's definition is the ability to respond. Contemplate what you would like to respond to.
