Weekly Mantra ~ How Lucky I Am tatianascavnicky.com
“I wish that life should not be cheap, but sacred. I wish the days to be as centuries, loaded, fragrant.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
There is magic in everyday. There is beauty so arresting in a sunrise and a sunset. This wonder is mine everyday. This enchantment is ours. The moments at dinner with family and friends. So many loved ones not here to be in, to see and touch feel this beauty. Perhaps they can see it from afar like angels do. But they can't really take it in like we can. Maybe as we revel at the day's beginnings, endings and even unravelings, we can bring it to them and ever more richly to us. How lucky we are...
May your week be magically beautiful and blessed,
XoTatiana

Weekly Mantra ~ Little Changes Can Take Me Really Far www.tatianascavnicky.com

Gretchen Rubin's appearance on Super Soul Sunday inspired this weeks mantra. Her break-out book "the Happiness Project" is steps she took every month for a year focusing on what she wanted to change in life. We are coming up to that time again of resolutions for 2016. January 1st comes and our list is long.
A few years back a friend of mine decided he was going to exercise twice daily, eat healthy frozen meals every day and quit smoking all on Jan 1st. I didn't want to burst his bubble or crush his enthusiasm. He was so excited! I knew he wanted to feel better and be healthier and I wanted to support him. I told him if it were me I'd start with one thing, maybe one daily exercise session and then add things once exercising was a habit. It only takes 21 days to create a habit.
He assured me he had a plan and he knew would be successful. Going from no exercise at all to twice daily, and healthy eating from a junk food diet and heavy smoking to being super healthy and motivated was going to be easy. I was routing for him. These changes were really important on a many levels.
I'm a huge believer in keeping "overwhelm" and "guilt" in check. I knew intuitively he was not going to be able to do ALL THAT at once. And... not doing what you say you really want creates more guilt, leading you right back to those bad habits. "Tomorrow I'll start" becomes your mantra, as you fill yourself with food and substances that you feel bad about doing afterwards.
This week pick an important area of your life. Make it something you think about a lot already and take one small step towards making it happen. If you want to pray and meditate daily, wake up in the morning 5-15 minutes earlier or do it before bed. If you are a social bunny and need to get out, make monthly dates with friends. Make the arrangements you need to make that happen.
One of my priorities is to feel good. Making small changes over time can make you feel better, and give you a sense of competence and confidence. Don't make "tomorrow I'll start" your mantra! I may just read Gretchen's "the Happiness Project" again and start step by step next year.
What small step will you do this week to create more happiness? I am here for you! I want you to feel good. Watch out...sharing it and writing it down will help make it happen.

Your Weekly Mantra ~ Mother Nature Always Heals Me www.tatianascavnicky.com
“Perhaps being amidst the undesecrated beauty of the wilderness meant that I too could be undesecrated, regardless of what I'd lost or what had been taken from me, regardless of the regrettable things I'd done to others or myself or the regrettable things that had been done to me. Of all the things I'd been skeptical about, I didn't feel skeptical about this: the wilderness had a clarity that included me.” ― Cheryl Strayed, Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail
At levels we are not aware of Nature...Mother Nature has her way with us. At her oceans, rivers streams and lakes we are affected. We are after all 70% water. We literally melt and merge. She touches our Soul.
Eco-therapy as it's now called has been known to help alleviate depression in tandem with other methods of traditional treatment. And it can boost energy levels up 20%.
It makes me so happy to see picnic tables outside of corporate buildings for people to sit. I am lucky to live right on a park and on my walks I always see people eating lunch in their cars or at one of the tables. I can't tell you the joy I feel sitting underneath the huge and beautiful trees that have protected me and my house all these years.
Recently I had to have a tree cut down in my yard. I was devastated at the thought of doing away with my friend and confidante. I put it off for two years. Turns out it wasn't an ash tree but a boxed elder whose roots had torn up cement, making their way towards the foundation of my house. It would continue to grow taller, wider and rounder.
During my recent trip to Kona I made arrangements to have it cut down. I just couldn't be there. Thank God I still have the four amazing oaks so close, that still shade and protect my property.
The picture above was taken at Honaunau on the Big Island of Hawaii. I was on a mission to get back there. I needed to be there at the water's edge to make sense of things not at an intellectual level, but at a spiritual level.
This week take time to be outside every day if you can even for a few minutes. If you need guidance on something set that intention. Say a prayer or sit in the shade of a tree or by a lake and do nothing. Let Mother Nature do her thing. She loves you.
