Your Weekly Mantra ~ I Came Here To Be Me www.tatianascavnicky.com

Saturday night I did concert of all original music. I rehearsed a lot. I wanted to be the best I could be and give a great show. I hear often the music we play helps people release as well as have a kick-ass time. It's my mission to express, create and deliver a message. This is a whole lot different than the nightlife venues I still do from time to time. But it's a whole other kind of vibration.

I talked about this in an interview before the big show. Check out that interview here. At a concert everyone buys tickets to see you perform. At a club you are the "entertainment" along with TV's, food ordering and the like. The idea is to move along between songs and entertain. At the concerts, I've learned our audience wants to hear the stories behind the tunes. That is a big part of the experience. They want to know the inspiration behind the songs.

I still have that move along and play song to song mindset, playing for years honing my craft. It's ingrained in me to not let to much time go in between songs. It's called dead air. I was feeling a bit of that creep in Saturday's show. At the end while signing Cd's, someone said they felt they were able to release things they were carrying while listening to the music. People love our behind-the-music banter in between songs and want to hear the stories.

The moral of the story and of this week's mantra is to do the best you can, prepare and show up. Just be you. Amazing things are destined to happen.
