Baton down the hatches Aquarius the water-bearer is coming through! Throw away the conventions and shackles of the past. Re-align with your cosmic mission and true nature. We are called to sync up our individualistic spirits with the greater good. Renounce convention! Fly your freak flag. Bring freedom for yourself and others with a unique and unorthodox point of view and way of living.
☽ Compassion
Aquarius is all about the greater good. It cares about the planet, the forgotten, the mistreated and abused, and the greater mission at hand. Its an air sign astrologically calling us through thoughts and ideas about the bigger picture of our own lives and the world we live in.
What have you always wanted to do as a contribution to make the world a better place? Every time I go to the animal shelter to hold the kittens and love on the older ones. I feel so good inside just to drop off cat food for them. I am hurt for the fur babies there but hopeful at the same time for their new lives. I am grateful they are being taken care of.
You are being called...if you choose to accept this mission. This is coming from a cosmic directive. This is as seemingly simple as a compulsion to beautify your yard and plant a garden or having a blog or career as an organizer of Feng Shui consultant. A builder of rocket ships or creator of a non-profit organization funding schools or people that need help and support, to being the most proficient project manager or realtor who is all about making people happy by getting them into the home of their dreams.
This is a unique and individual purpose. It doesn't have to be huge. Quite simply, it has to be yours and/or one you believe in.
This is a liberating full moon. Liberation is often born of chaos. It is not so easy as we are seeing in the world. Aquarius causes us to see the world around us and what we can do. Aquarius is the water-bearer of truth opening our eyes to injustice and chaos in the world and in ourselves. How can we influence the transmutation of the chaos? Can we make it better?
☽ Sulis ~ Purification & Healing
Sulis is the Celtic goddess of the sun and of water and healing. There is a temple in her honor in Bath, England. She symbolizes for us in the context of this reading the purification of not only being in the water but purifying our intentions...almost like a soul baptism.
Look at where you know you are really far from how you want to live, where you say if I could only do that, I would be able to move forward. Defying your habits is the ultimate sign of mastery. It creates firepower. Cleaning up your individual consciousness and conscience is directly related to giving back to the collective. Going to the animal shelter or mentoring someone causes a feel-good kick-back to the soul.
The duality of the sun and water aspects of Sulis perfectly symbolize this full moon. The sun aspect resonates with where we are astrologically in August and the sign of Leo. Our thoughts, our spirits and ultimately the collective Spirit call us to a greater purpose, to the next level. You can level up now if you choose.
Uranus the planet of reinvention and rebellion rules Aquarius. Time to wake up to what you have been feeling, hearing, seeing and knowing deep inside. Don't give up at this time even if what you want for yourself and the collective doesn't seem to be happening.
Rebellion is not quick. Following your own point of view is constant. Forward thinkers keep thinking forwardly. This includes peace-keeping motives and pacifist approaches. It never stops. It takes time and trickles down. But we are psst!!! We don't like what is going on. I am not going to get into recent current world events because this is not what this space is about. But YES that rising up you feel is real. We are rising up to the collective "We" and the rebel revisionist in "Us". Being a rebel is just as much about not doing something as doing something.
Back to us. We know what we are doing wrong and right when it comes to ourselves and those around us. We know our unconscious actions have cause and affect. Being a rebel and revolutionary starts with stopping the battle within before it erupts on the battlefield.
Aquarius represents the priestess or goddess archetype or feminine energy. This is a very psychic and intuitive time. You may feel as if you are super in-tune with your inner-guru. Pay attention to flashes of insight, especially mental ones, because Aquarius is of the element of air representing thoughts and ideas. This moon has an energetic quality beckoning us to not only have great compassion for the world but equally important, for ourselves. Feel the push to change within for the better, but DO NOT beat yourself up. I talked a bit about this in this week's mantra. You can read that here.
Full moons are for forgiving things you have been carrying. Holding onto anger and resentment is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die. Time to forgive yourself too and move on my dear. You have done the best you could do. Now that you can do better so be it. Being lost and stuck in regret and depression or being angry at yourself doesn't create change. Look at the root of it. Then use the energy of the full moon to list the things that stand in the way of what you ultimately want. Release them during the full moon.
Examples
I want to give back but I just don't have the time and energy
= I find ways to give back that inspire me that work with my life.
I am angry because I want more time to myself
= I AM discovering ways to create more time for me.
I feel lost because things are not working out like I want
= I want happiness and peace.
= I Look forward to the future with great happiness and peace.
I want more money
= I AM abundant and wealthy.
I want love
= I AM deeply loved.
These affirmations take effect really quickly if you write them down at the time of the new moon and refer back to them often.
Aquarius Full Moon Rituals
*Take your written affirmations and what you do to block them. Release them in a body of water. Bury or **safely** burn them.
*Take a sea salt bath or ritual shower if you don't have a bath tub. **Safely** light candles and play music. I recommend Mark Watson's Anja ~ Third Eye Chakra and Goddess Caer music. Feel the water and scrub cleansing your body, mind and spirit.
*Get in the water if you can!
*Take time to get deep and journal about what you would really like to do to give back and what that would feel like. Write how following your gut and mastering habits would make you feel.
I love that new Post It commercial where the girl writes I will jump higher today. Everyday she jumps higher and eventually touches the backboard of the basketball net. It is true as the commercial says you are twice as likely to accomplish something if you write it down.
